We are a large mixed SATB choir and orchestra of 150 plus members with a busy schedule. Based in Plymouth we cover large events across the South West. We deliver 3 concerts each season and also offer a number of workshops and professional development days.
To create a safe, judgement free environment for music making.
To offer music making opportunities to all.
To cross the gap between ethnic divides, cultural differences and have an open door policy regardless of ethnicity, creed, sexuality or religion, because music has none of these.
To allow others to benefit from community music making and use it an accessible tool for ALL to use.
To use music to cross ethnic and cultural divides and provide a neutral space to meet through shared talents and passions.
Community music-making is a direct and accessible tool for connecting people and engaging and mobilising communities.
Live music has always been an integral part of human life for as long as we can remember, and it doesn’t matter where in the world you are you are never far from music. Our hope is that we can continue to make live music so readily available and affordable that everyone who wants to can enjoy live music making and for this to be at the heart of every community.
